Saronno Diaries

Gru a Saronno
What is happening in here? Guess and post to comments!

Hello buddies, it’s been quite a long time since my last post. I’m sorry, but a lot of events happened and I was struggling and working in order to fix them!

A lot of things changed in my city, Saronno. Well well… now you know where I am from, a little town in Northern Italy, very close to Milan. Many of you probably have already heard this name because of its most well-known product, Disaronno, the Italian liqueur flavored with herbs and fruits soaked in apricot kernel oil.

Anyway, Saronno is not only the city of the so-called amaretto, but it is a little city that was really full of industries in the past decades. Now, because of the crisis, production has slowed down but there is still quite a lot of general movement, because of the presence of Milan that is located about 30 km far away. There are a lot of people living in Saronno that work in the main city of Lombardy, the most populated region of Italy. Milan has more than 1.000.000 inhabitants and it is the second biggest city in Italy, after Rome of course.

This is why the railway station in Saronno is so important. Traffic jam is a real problem if you are in a hurry, and I can assure you that no one is able to reach Milan by car during rush hours. This is why a lot of people desire to live in the city centre: because they want to get to the station as fast as they can!

To serve the increasing number of inhabitants going everyday to Milan, a new parking is being constructed in the back of the station. So this is what I saw few days ago, coming back home… I didn’t know anything about it, and I can assure you it was a bit frightening at the beginning… Then I understood. Well, look at the picture and guess what was happening! 😉
